    RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES for Undergraduates
 

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:


Gain hands-on research experience.  Explore a variety of field and lab research options.
 

The following research opportunities are available for CNU Undergraduate Students to assist CNU Graduate Students with various research projects:

Gill Fishing on Lake Maury.

Field Work for a couple of hours a week.  Net fishing on Lake Maury and lab work.  Contact Dan Bacon.

 

Student Research

Vegetation Collection and Data Recording.

Data entry. Transfer data into an Excel spreadsheet.  Flexible hours.  Contact Melinda Sparks.

Bluebird Trail MonitoringMonitor Bluebird Trail.

Make observations and data collections of the Bluebird Trail at the Mariners' Museum Park.  Contact Jon Warren.

Water Quality Sampling.

Collection of storm water runoff in Lake Maury.  Contact Mary Wainwright.

Surveying and locating bat roosts in Southeastern Virginia.

Ela-Sita Carpenter

May consist of locating & entering roosts in abandoned buildings &/or swamps, checking for absence/presence of buildings, or daytime video recording of a roost.

Field work for a length of 5 hrs at a time (mostly travel time). Day/time of field work will vary. Contact Ela-Sita Carpenter.
