The Major with Distinction designation is a departmental honor that can be earned by students who document exemplary achievement in the following four areas: academics, departmental and discipline-specific external participation, scholarship, research, and service.
Students should begin documenting these achievements by the time they begin their upper division coursework (e.g. after successfully completing either BIOL 300 or BIOL 201/201L and 202/202L).
The completed application for the honor, including documentation, logs, and faculty signatures, must be submitted to the BCES Department Chairman via the student's faculty sponsor no later than April 15 (for spring graduates) or November 15 (for fall graduates) each year. |
