 Health Profession Preparation

Health Profession Schools select students who have not only a strong science aptitude; they also seek students with a broad-based academic background.  Medical schools notice students who can speak and write articulately and candidly and who are socially adjusted and friendly.

Typically, Health Professional Schools seek well-rounded, liberally educated students whose personal attributes include:

  1. capable management and interpersonal skills
  2. strong analytical and communication skills
  3. a clearly defined sense of ethics
  4. a commitment to serving others
  5. experience in the health professions in the form of employment, volunteer work, and/or internships.

So you see, a degree in biology, chemistry or even physics or psychology can progress you toward your health profession goal.  CNU provides guidance, counsel, and support in your preparation.

Matt Backens prepared for his M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School

and is now serving his residency.

Matt credits excellence in academics, friendships with teachers, and fellow students

who shared his zest for the volunteer and leadership opportunities abundant at CNU.

He put his biology major to work and prepared for his career in medicine.

For convenience we use the term medical school for any postgraduate school in the health professions

and any of the various careers in these areas.
