Dr. Lisa S. Webb: Summer Research

Mouse

Summer Research involves locating and identifying (at the molecular level) the specific mutation in the PRMT3 gene responsible for an epilepsy and runting phenotype in the mouse.

Research work is located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Dr. Lisa Webb studies biomedically relevant (disease) phenotypes, particularly mouse models of these diseases.  As a molecular geneticist, she is interested in determining the molecular defect(s) responsible for these phenotypes.  Working on the PRMT3 project will afford the opportunity to determine the molecular defect(s) responsible for this important neurological phenotype.

Summer research project is funded by the Department of Energy’s FaST Program. The Faculty and Student Teams (FaST) Program is a cooperative effort between the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
